“Metro scientist fears PPE is ‘nail in the coffin’ for plastic pollution” on WSB TV – Bandalong trash traps are catching noticably more PPE (personal protective equipment) such as gloves, masks, and hand santizer bottles. The traps help to reduce the amount of plastic and other waste that reaches the Chatahoochee River and eventually the Gulf of Mexico.

But scientists fear, the additional PPE discarded due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, is the “nail in the coffin” for plastic pollution.
