Effectively tackle debris in smaller waterways with the Bandalong Bandit™.
The Bandalong Bandit™ is a compact version of the original Bandalong Litter Trap™ that we've been building and installing for over 15 years. It retains many of the same features and benefits as the larger model, with one key difference: the Bandit is made entirely from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) materials. This lightweight and durable trap is easy to install, with a frame small enough to fit into the bed of a pickup truck.
Perfect for tributaries, creeks, and urban streams, this innovative trap delivers powerful results. With precision engineering and robust construction, the Bandit™ provides an effective and reliable method for capturing and containing floating litter, helping to protect our waterways from pollution.
Our Story
Robust
and Reliable
The Bandalong Bandit™ is made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) with an all-welded construction, built to withstand the elements. Its industrial-grade components ensure it endures the rigors of outdoor environments, efficiently capturing a variety of floating debris over the long term.
Easy to Use
and Deploy
The Bandalong Bandit™ weighs just 81 pounds and comes with two 25-foot boom sections—one for the right side and one for the left—totaling 50 feet of collection capability. Its lightweight design ensures it can be easily transported in the back of most pickup trucks, offering effortless deployment and relocation to adapt to changing environmental needs.
Environmental Impact and Effectiveness
The Bandalong Bandit™ intercepts debris like plastic bags, bottles, and Styrofoam containers before they reach larger bodies of water. In its first year at a recent installation, one unit captured over 2000 pounds of litter, dramatically reducing marine pollution and aiding in the preservation of aquatic ecosystems.
Successful Installations Speak Volumes
Our installations at Tanyard Creek in Georgia and the Woonasquatucket River in Rhode Island showcase the Bandit's ability to significantly reduce litter in waterways. These projects, supported by partnerships with organizations like Cox Communications and the Chattahoochee River Keeper, highlight the positive impact of the Bandalong Bandit™ on local communities and environments.
Additional Community Impact
In Dunellen, New Jersey, the deployment of the Bandalong Bandit™ has brought substantial environmental benefits to local waterways, actively preventing litter from reaching the Raritan River.
Similarly, in New Jersey's Lower Raritan Watershed, our systems demonstrate a commitment to sustainable water management, capturing significant amounts of debris and bolstering community efforts towards cleaner rivers (read more about this initiative). These stories not only illustrate the effectiveness of the Bandalong Bandit™ in diverse settings but also emphasize the widespread recognition and adoption of our solutions by communities committed to environmental stewardship.
